Ice Golem
A cheap, high-HP mini-tank that slows nearby enemies when it dies - one of the most flexible defensive cards in the game.
What Does Ice Golem Do?
Ice Golem is a slow, building-targeting troop with high hitpoints for its cost but very low damage - it's built to soak hits, not deal them. It ignores enemy troops entirely and walks straight toward the nearest building.
Its real value comes when it dies: it explodes for small area damage - enough to one-shot Skeletons or Bats - and slows every enemy nearby for 2 seconds. That death effect makes it useful even after it's been destroyed, not just while it's alive.
Where Ice Golem Fits
Ice Golem works both offensively and defensively. Placed in front of a win condition like Hog Rider or Battle Ram, it soaks tower shots and troop hits while the real threat gets through behind it. On defense, it's a cheap way to absorb Fire Spirit or Ice Spirit hits, or to bait out a spell without spending much Elixir.
How to Counter Ice Golem
Since it only targets buildings and deals very little damage on its own, the real question is what's behind it. A defensive building can tank Ice Golem itself while your other cards deal with whatever it's escorting - just watch for the slow effect on its death, since it can disrupt a defender's timing right as it lands the finishing hit.
